Western Azerbaijan toponyms used in Armenia's mineral resources map

The map of Armenia's mineral resources was prepared in paper format last year, but Yerevan prevented the circulation of this map, Mugabil Bayramov, head of the Public Union of Azerbaijani Cartographers, a member of the Environmental Protection First (EPF) Coalition, said at the presentation of the digital map of Armenia's mineral resources, Report informs.

Bayramov noted that for this reason the coalition decided to prepare a digital version of the map on electronic media.

"It will be impossible to prevent the distribution of this map," Bayramov added.

The coalition member said that the experience of geologists from friendly countries to Azerbaijan and documents and maps prepared by Azerbaijani geologists operating during the Soviet era were used in drawing up the map:

"We used the toponyms of Western Azerbaijan in the map. We prepared it based on historical maps."
