Russia must conduct serious investigation at various levels into incident in Yekaterinburg

The events that have been taking place in Russia in recent days are one of the most serious acts of cruelty against all migrants, including Azerbaijanis, Azerbaijani MP Arzu Nagiyev told Report.

The deputy noted that during the operational and investigative activities, Russian law enforcement officers probably exceeded their authority, and therefore this case requires a detailed investigation: "This is not the first such case... It is necessary to clarify all the details of the case, investigate the facts of death, law enforcement agencies must respond. This incident must be given an objective assessment."

Arzu Nagiyev emphasized that Russia must respond at the highest level to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan on this issue: "Otherwise, such processes can lead to serious consequences. Azerbaijan has always been faithful to the policy of good neighborliness and has shown a good attitude towards the Russian community in the country. The Russian side must conduct a serious investigation on this issue at various levels and provide information to Azerbaijan."
