Prosecutor General: 1995 Constitution established legal foundations of independent statehood

National Leader Heydar Aliyev saved Azerbaijan from division and collapse in the 20th and 21st centuries, restoring the country as a legal, democratic, and independent state, Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev said at an event marking the 102nd anniversary of Heydar Aliyev's birth and the opening of a new administrative building for the Baku City Prosecutor's Office.

He emphasized that declaring 2025 as the Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty is crucial for analyzing and understanding the foundations of statehood.

"The Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, adopted in 1995 under the leadership of Heydar Aliyev, established the legal foundations of our independent statehood, and the great leader made an exceptional contribution to the preparation of this document," Aliyev added.
