MP: Atrocities committed against Azerbaijanis in Russia do not fit into any law

The atrocity committed against Azerbaijanis does not fit into any law or humanity, Azerbaijani MP Jeyhun Mammadov told Report.

Jeyhun Mammadov noted that such incidents are not happening for the first time: "We have seen such incidents occurring from time to time in previous years as well. Azerbaijan always tries to maintain relations with Russia. More than 100,000 Russian citizens living in Azerbaijan are fully surrounded by the attention of the Azerbaijani state. Our state has created the highest conditions for them here. Today, they are not treated differently in Azerbaijan. But it is regrettable that yesterday's process once again showed that the situation in Russia is different. Such steps are continuously taken deliberately against Azerbaijanis."

According to the MP, what happened shows that discrimination and fascism have become state policy in Russia: "This will become more of Russia's own headache in the future. Representatives of many nations live in Russia. They have always participated in its development as citizens. Now, however, Russia's law enforcement agencies are committing this brutality and cruelty. This is unacceptable. We demand an explanation from Russia for these behaviors. This is brutality and a law violation. It's not an ordinary matter. It is a step taken by an official body. Therefore, we expect an explanation from Russia. They should review their policies and make corrections to prevent such cases from recurring. Taking steps in this form is completely contrary to the existing relations between the two countries."
