Landfill areas for safe solid waste selected in Azerbaijan’s Khojaly, Aghdara, Khojavend

Areas for solid waste landfills have been selected in the territories of Khojaly (20ha), Aghdara (10ha), and Khojavand (10ha) districts, Sabuhi Babayev, head of the Ecology Department of Clean City JSC, said during a meeting of the working group on environmental issues.

Report quotes Babayev as saying a letter has been sent to the Azerbaijani State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture regarding the allocation of selected land plots for the use of Clean City JSC:

"The State Committee has issued an order to allocate the land plot located in Khojavand and Khojaly districts for the use of Clean City JSC to create waste landfills. The area has been cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance by ANAMA."
