The Khojaly tragedy is one of the most terrible events that occurred after the fall of the USSR, Badri Nachkebia, a Georgian conflictologist, told Report.
The political scientist emphasized that the Khojaly genocide differs from others:
"This was perhaps the only tragedy in the post-Soviet space (after the collapse of the USSR) where children were targeted and killed. Nothing like this had happened in other conflicts," Nachkebia added.
He also stressed the need to solve this crime and noted the necessity of working harder to bring the perpetrators to justice:
"Everyone should come together to prevent such tragedies in the future," Badri Nachkebia said.
