Elman Nasirov: Azerbaijan hasn't joined sanctions against Moscow, but is receiving blows from Russia

Despite Azerbaijan not joining sanctions against Moscow, it has received blows from Russia, Azerbaijani MP Elman Nasirov told Report.

Elman Nasirov noted that the operation carried out against Azerbaijanis in Russia is distinguished by its special cruelty:

"During this operation, members of the Safarov family were killed and tortured. This reminds of Stalin's repressions. At that time, at least for appearance's sake, a court was established. Now, without any trial, they have declared them criminals and killed them. Behind this process stand Russia's law enforcement agencies. The fact that OMON has become so brutal causes outrage among people. By which court's decision did this incident happen? All this is happening before the eyes of the world."

According to the MP, chaos reigns in the legal field in Russia:

"There is complacency because Russia has not received the proper punishment for its actions in Ukraine. I believe that the Russian leadership should be resolute in this matter - in exposing the criminals. The Russian state should understand that today the number of its partners can be counted on fingers. Azerbaijan has never joined sanctions against Russia, but in return, it has received blows. After the plane crash, neither was compensation paid to Azerbaijan, nor were the criminals punished. The deportation of an Azerbaijani MP from Russia has also not been forgotten yet. At the same time, it has also emerged that cyber attacks against Azerbaijan have been organized from this country. The recent events do not align with the spirit of the alliance agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Russia."
