Azerbaijan, UK discuss future humanitarian demining projects

Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom have discussed mutual cooperation in the field of humanitarian demining, as well as current priorities and future projects.

According to Report, this exchange of views took place during a meeting between Shamil Rzayev, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), and Duncan Norman, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that eliminating the mine threat is not only a matter of security but also crucial for ensuring sustainable peace and socio‑economic development in the region, as well as supporting safe living and resettlement for the population.
