Azerbaijan to reveal date for upcoming municipal elections by end of November

The date for the upcoming municipal elections in Azerbaijan will be announced by the end of November, Rovzat Gasimov, Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission told Report.

Gasimov noted that, as per the requirements of the Election Code, municipal elections are appointed by the Central Election Commission. The corresponding decision is officially published at least 60 days before the voting day.

"After discussions held within the Central Election Commission as a collegial body, it was concluded that the municipal elections will be announced by the end of November this year, in accordance with the requirements of the legislation," Gasimov stated.
