Azerbaijan's Emergency Ministry advises mountaineers to report routes in advance

Azerbaijan's Ministry of Emergency Situations has advised mountaineers to inform the 112 emergency hotline about their planned routes in advance.

According to Report, the recommendation was made by Major Nizami Asadov, head of the Operational Response Department of the Crisis Management Center's 112 system.

He said the hotline receives an average of 8,000–10,000 calls daily, most of which are unfounded.

Asadov noted that the main feature of the 112 mobile application is its location detection function, which allows operators to automatically see the caller's location on a map when the app is used.

He added that, due to the growth of tourism, the service also receives calls from foreign nationals served by operators speaking English, Russian, and Arabic.

Asadov recommended that mountaineers and tourists plan their routes in advance and notify the 112 service, saying this would enable faster deployment of search and rescue teams in case of emergencies.
