Another provocation of Baroness Cox and Armenian diaspora prevented in London

The Azerbaijani community operating in the UK and Northern Ireland has prevented another provocation of the Armenian diaspora and its patrons, Report informs referring to the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs.

The chairperson of the Society of Azerbaijanis in Britain, Farida Panahova, said that an event on the topic “Armenia: ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh” was planned at the famous Carlton Club in central London on February 5.

The event was to be organized by Baroness Caroline Cox, known for her pro-Armenian position and hostility towards Turkism and Islam, with the support of Lord de Mauley and the Armenian Ambassador to Great Britain Varuzhan Nersesyan.

Having learned about this, the Society of Azerbaijanis in Britain sent an open letter of protest to the management of the club on behalf of the Azerbaijani community of the country. A copy of the letter was sent to British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, Members of Parliament, Members of the House of Lords Lord Evans, Lord Ahmed, Lord Kilclooney, Lord Sarfraz and Baroness Manzila Pola Uddin, Minister for Europe and North America Leo Docherty, Head of the Special Committee of the British Foreign Office Alicia Kearns, leadership of the Voice of Conservatives organization.

In an official letter dated January 22, 2024, addressed to the Chairperson of the Society of Azerbaijanis in Britain, Farida Panahova, on behalf of the Secretary of the Carlton Club, Simon Robinson, it was confirmed that this event would not take place at the club.
