The Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation will restore a mosque in the Gochahmadli village located in liberated Fuzuli, the President of the Foundation, Aqtoty Raiymqulova, said at the panel session themed “Ensuring lasting peace for the revival and preservation of culture in the post-conflict periods” held on the sidelines of the 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku Thursday, Report informs.
According to her, Azerbaijan has fully restored its sovereignty, and now full-scale reconstruction works have been started to restore the original and historical image of the Karabakh region and revive its former spirit: “The return of the former refugees and IDPs is gradually continuing in peace and security. The Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation firmly believes that the government of Azerbaijan implements various rebuilding and restoration projects in the liberated territories at a very high level. Our foundation is very interested in contributing to these processes. In this regard, as the result of close cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, our organization is planning to participate in the restoration of the Gochahmadli village located in liberated Fuzuli, which was endured to vandalism during the occupation.”
Raiymqulova said that the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation’s participation in the restoration of the Islamic heritage of Karabakh in the context of the declaration of “Shusha as the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World in 2024” is another sign of the importance of international cooperation in this field: “It is commendable that the Turkic countries are very active in restoration processes carried out by Azerbaijan in the Karabakh region.”
