An exhibition by Azerbaijani artist Orkhan Mammadov will open in New York, Lara Binnet, chief curator of the Blackdove digital art company, told
She said that in the works on display at the exhibition titled "Revival of Aesthetics", Mammadov created a unity of heritage and modernity by combining sketches of Azerbaijani carpets, a symbol of the country's cultural heritage, with artificial intelligence, the latest technology algorithm. Binnet said that nine works of art would be displayed at the exhibition and prominent collectors from New York and the world are invited.
Orkhan Mammadov is one of the artists who combine the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan with the latest technology algorithm. Using the modern artificial intelligence algorithm, he processed tens of thousands of images of traditional Azerbaijani carpets and rugs in Azerbaijani museums and managed to create new boundless combinations based on their similarities. So far, Mammadov has collected more than 150,000 carpet compositions and sketches, combined them with artificial intelligence and created imaginary rugs that have never existed before. Mammadov's exhibitions were held in leading exhibition halls worldwide.
