Rare Azerbaijani rugs woven during the Safavid era and preserved until today were exhibited in New York, US.

The exhibition Azerbaijani Rug Magnificence: Safavid Treasures in Antique Textiles was jointly organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United States and the United States-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce (USACC) in Washington and hosted by Turkish House in New York.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to the United States of America, Khazar Ibrahim, Consul General of Türkiye in New York, Reyhan Ozgur, USACC Executive Director Natig Bakhishov, Turkish and Azerbaijani diplomats working in the United States, diaspora and local community representatives of both fraternal countries, and famous American carpet collectors attended.

In the evening, the soloist of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra and member of the Norwegian Musicians Union, kamancha player Shabnam Huseyn, performed with a concert program consisting of the works of Azerbaijani composers.

Later, the guests visited the exhibition and got detailed information about the carpets.

American guests took photos against the background of the beautiful, patterned Azerbaijani carpets.
