Aktau named cultural capital of Turkic world for 2025

Aktau has been designated as the cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2025, as announced in Ashgabat following the 41st meeting of member states of TURKSOY, the International Organization for the Development of Turkic Culture and Art.

Report informs, citing Kazakh media, that, according to the Ministry of Culture and Information, the meeting was attended by representatives from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, as well as heads of international organizations and other honorary guests.

"Plans for events dedicated to Aktau's designation as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2025, promotion of common cultural heritage of the Turkic world, and matters of sustainable cooperation were discussed," the ministry reported.

The Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture approved TURKSOY's program of activities for the upcoming year 2025.
