The International Institute for Environment and Development expects good outcomes from the financing negotiations at the upcoming COP29 conference in Baku, Una May Gordon, a representative of the institute, told Report on the sidelines of Pre-COP29 in Baku.
She noted that today's ministerial climate meeting within the Pre-COP29 is an important event.
"This is not a negotiating platform, in the sense that we don't have prepared speeches. The platform is designed to build trust between parties," Gordon said.
Gordon noted that as a result of COP29, she expects an increase in climate financing, particularly in the Loss and Damage Fund.
