UN Sec.-Gen.: Financial aspect of COP29 results to be one of key elements

Clarification of positions of all countries is necessary for making the final decision on the results of COP29, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said at a press conference in Baku during COP29, Report informs.

"I truly believe that we are approaching a moment of truth. It is important that each side clarifies their positions and proposals. This applies to both financial issues and other aspects. The outcome must be balanced, and all problems must be taken into account," Guterres noted.

He emphasized that it is impossible to continue negotiations without clarity on key issues.

"The financial aspect of COP29 outcomes will be one of the key elements, but not the only important one," added the UN secretary-general.
