Ukraine's ecology minister calls COP29 in Baku 'intense and complex'

The 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference (COP29) held in Baku was intense and quite challenging for all countries worldwide, particularly for Ukraine, Ukrainian Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Svitlana Hrynchuk wrote on her Facebook page, Report informs.

"A package of decisions on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement concerning market mechanisms has been adopted. The work program on agriculture has been continued, and a portal for submitting new projects has been created. Steps are being taken to work on the global adaptation goal," the minister noted.

She stated that Ukraine will receive funds for implementing climate plans and projects: "We can attract additional investments under Article 6, as well as join the financing from international institutions for green energy, green recovery, and climate change adaptation."

"The Ukrainian pavilion became an important element of work in Baku. It fulfilled its mission of attracting international partners for green recovery, despite the war and destruction. This will be a symbol of the world's unity around Ukraine even after COP29," Hrynchuk added.
