Shamakhi hosts COP29 meeting with chairs of all negotiating groups

The meeting in Shamakhi reflects the commitment of the COP29 Presidency to intensify engagement and accelerate action to combat climate change, COP29 said in a post on X.

"Heads of Delegation, including chairs of all negotiating groups, are gathered for a retreat this weekend in Shamakhi, Azerbaijan, to build momentum for progress together. This convening reflects the COP29 Presidency’s commitment to intensifying engagement and accelerating action," reads the post.

The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will be held in Baku in November 2024.
