Nigar Arpadarai: Private sector actively participating in COP29

The private sector is actively participating in COP29 held in Baku, Nigar Arpadarai, UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for COP29, said in her statement to journalists at the "COP29 Business, Investment and Philanthropy Climate Platform" organized jointly with the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), Report informs.

"We are satisfied with the private sector's participation. A few years ago, COP processes used to be smaller. That is, negotiations were mainly conducted between governments. The private sector was not closely involved here. And we don't consider this right. The private sector must be involved because it will be the private sector that implements the commitments made by states. This close dialogue is very important, and we see that year by year, the private sector is participating more in the COP process," she noted.
