Kazakhstan has signed more than 20 documents worth $4.5 billion within the framework of COP29 held in Baku, the country's Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Erlan Nysanbayev, told Report.

"Among them are notable large investment agreements such as the Climate-Resilient Water Resources Development project with the Islamic Development Bank, renewable energy projects with Chinese partners, as well as agreements on hydrometeorology and water security compliance," said Nysanbayev.

The minister emphasized that at COP29 in Baku, Kazakhstan put forward several multilateral initiatives, one of which was the Carbon Farming Initiative, aimed at coordinating efforts to prevent desertification and land degradation.

"This initiative has already been supported by Georgia, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. We plan to actively involve the UN Food and Agriculture Organization in its implementation," noted Nysanbayev.
