Belgian ambassador: ‘COP29 climate conference will be a great moment for Azerbaijani diplomacy’

The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will give impetus to political relations between Azerbaijan and all countries participating in the conference in the fight against climate change, Ambassador of Belgium to Azerbaijan Michel Peetermans told Report.

"Therefore, this will be a great moment for Azerbaijani diplomacy. At the same time, this is an opportunity for Azerbaijan to express itself to international companies, which, of course, will be widely represented in Baku,” the ambassador added.

In this sense, the Conference of the Parties will not only be a step towards achieving climate goals, but also a showcase for Azerbaijan, which is engaged in the process of reducing dependence on fossil fuels and diversifying the structure of its economy, Peetermans also pointed out.
