Azerbaijan and Tajikistan discussed potential cooperation opportunities regarding the Central Asia-Azerbaijan Green Energy Corridor.
Report informs, citing the Ministry of Energy, that discussions took place within the framework of COP29 during a meeting between Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Tajikistan's Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma.
The meeting also addressed the importance of holding the "Investment Forum on Energy Transition for Central Asia" as part of COP. The sides expressed interest in oil supplies to Tajikistan and cooperation with Azerbaijan in renewable energy projects.
Parviz Shahbazov also met with Jordan's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Al-Kharabsheh. The meeting focused on prospects for cooperation in the oil and gas and refining industries, and Jordan expressed support for Azerbaijan's energy initiatives.
Additionally, Shahbazov met with Total Energies CEO Patrick Pouyanné. The parties discussed the current status of joint projects, including work on the full-scale development of the Absheron gas condensate field. They also exchanged views on the implementation of export-oriented solar and wind projects with a total capacity of 500 MW.
