Azerbaijan and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) have discussed the main directions of potential cooperation between the two parties, Report informs, citing the Economy Ministry of Azerbaijan.
According to the ministry, Mikayil Jabbarov, Azerbaijan's Economy Minister, met with AIIB President Jin Liqun within the framework of COP29.
During the meeting, Minister Jabbarov noted that Azerbaijan has been cooperating with AIIB since 2016 and attaches great importance to this partnership. He highlighted the AIIB's support for infrastructure development in member countries. The minister also talked about the work being done in Azerbaijan to ensure sustainable development, including the transition to a green economy and the promotion of green energy.
In turn, Jin Liqun shared information about the measures taken by AIIB to stimulate economic growth and infrastructure development in the Asian region. He emphasized the bank's effective relations with Azerbaijan and expressed views on the possibilities of expanding the partnership.
The parties also discussed the main areas of potential cooperation, AIIB's future activity priorities in Azerbaijan, as well as prospective projects for the development of green energy and infrastructure.
