The project is implemented by ASAN volunteers (State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan) in collaboration with the Volunteers Association of Uzbekistan, with support from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the Agency for State Support of NGOs of Azerbaijan.
The social initiative, involving more than 30 volunteers from both countries, is being implemented as part of the COP29 held in Baku. The goal is to draw youth attention to the impact and solutions of climate change issues, and to help strengthen knowledge and skills.
Other main objectives include further development of cross-country cooperation in volunteering and increasing youth participation in environmental protection measures.
As part of the project, participants will develop various environmental solutions to combat climate change and take part in training sessions conducted by professionals. The program, rich with discussion panels, environmental actions, and idea competitions, will continue with activities reflecting the cultural heritage of both countries.
The first two days of the camp will be held in Lankaran, the youth capital of the Turkic world, and the last day will be in the Green Zone at the COP29 venue.
ASAN volunteers conduct various activities to draw public attention to restoring ecological balance, preserving green spaces, and protecting the environment. To this end, 400 projects and more than 100 tree planting and cleanup activities have been implemented through the Green ASAN environmental program.
