NGO representatives participate in global climate conferences to achieve justice and stop climate change, Adrian Martinez Blanco, director of the non-governmental organization La Ruta del Clima, said on November 11 in Baku at a press conference on climate issues, damage compensation, and human rights within the COP29, Report informs.
He expressed hope that those responsible would be held accountable: "They seek to delay solving problems for the sake of profiting from fossil fuels, despite their commitments and the need for urgent action. However, we are here to protect the interests of people and nature," he said.
The head of the organization also noted that the time has come for changes and responsible decisions.
"People no longer need words. Their rights have been violated, and they need concrete and timely solutions, which they haven't seen yet. We must change this. It's time for responsibility, justice, and fighting climate change," he added.
