Fifty business entities will be established in Azerbaijan within the Entrepreneurship and Self-Employment Development project in rural areas, chairman of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) under the Ministry of Economy Orkhan Mammadov said at a seminar on rural development and the establishment of a national agritourism system in Azerbaijan.
According to him, SMBDA is interested in implementing projects in the tourism sector together with partner organizations:
"In May 2021, with the support of SMBDA and the State Employment Service under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, 15 business facilities - village guest houses - were commissioned in the Ismayilli district as part of the Entrepreneurship and Self-Employment Development project in rural areas. Taking into account the positive results, a new initiative in the field of rural tourism has been launched in Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz, Shaki, Zagatala, Gakh, Lankaran, Astara, and Lerik districts with high tourism potential together with the State Employment Service and the State Tourism Agency. Thus, as a continuation of the relevant project, it is planned to create another 50 business entities in these regions."
