Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan discuss development of economic cooperation

Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan discussed ways to strengthen bilateral economic ties and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in various sectors of the economy, Report informs, citing the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO).

A round table was held in Riyadh as part of the 8th meeting of the Joint Commission on Cooperation between the governments of the two countries.

The event was jointly organized by the Saudi Investment Promotion Agency (SIPA) and AZPROMO.

The co-chairman of the commission, Saudi Minister of Investment Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, noted that his country attaches great importance to developing partnership with Azerbaijan, which is built on a solid foundation of common economic interests.

In turn, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov emphasized that the round table is an important platform for strengthening business contacts, discussing investment prospects, and implementing joint projects.

At the event, representatives of AZPROMO, the Economic Zones Development Agency Azerbaijan (EZDA), Azerbaijan Investment Holding, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ), as well as private companies provided information about business and investment opportunities in Azerbaijan, and about state mechanisms for supporting investors.
