Orkhan Mammadov: Necessary to improve corporate governance in Azerbaijan

New steps are needed to improve corporate governance in Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) Orkhan Mammadov said speaking at the Baku International CEO Summit.

According to him, the principles of corporate governance are tools that increase the competitiveness and commercial value of a business: "In this regard, it may be important to involve business entities in general in this policy, including the improvement of corporate governance, for which favorable conditions have been created in our country. These initiatives are a good start, but they are not enough to improve corporate governance activities, so new steps need to be taken in this area. First of all, it is necessary to train specialists with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure the development of corporate governance and expand its scope."
