Money transfers from Azerbaijan to Georgia double

In August 2021, $7.15 million was transferred from Azerbaijan to Georgia, up 2.7% from the previous year, Report informs with reference to the National Bank of Georgia.

In the reporting period, the money remittance from Azerbaijan made up 3.5% of total transfers.

Last month $1.8 million was transferred from Georgia to Azerbaijan, $0.4 million or 30% more than a year ago. In August, the money transfers from foreign countries to Georgia increased by 11.2% to $204.9 million, while the transfers from Georgia to foreign countries surged 18.7% to $27.4 million.

In January-August 2021, money transfers from Azerbaijan to Georgia nearly doubled to $56.4 million.

During the eight months of 2021, $12.6 million was transferred from Georgia to Azerbaijan, up 25% from the previous year.
