Mikayil Jabbarov mulls projects on alternative energy sources with EU commissioner

Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has discussed with European Commissioner for Climate Action Wopke Hoekstra the projects on alternative energy sources being implemented in Azerbaijan, Report informs.

The participants of the meeting, which took place within the World Economic Forum in Davos, also touched upon various aspects of sustainable energy policies.

“As part of our trip to the Davos Economic Forum, alongside Rovshan Najaf, the President of SOCAR, we met with Jeremy Weir, the Chairman and CEO of Trafigura Group Pte Ltd. Our meeting focused on the cooperation between the company and our country in the fields of transitioning to green energy, decarbonization, aluminum production, prospects of Azerbaijan’s business climate and joint cooperation opportunities in potential areas within the framework of COP29,” Mikayil Jabbarov wrote on X.
