Georgia doubles spending on cigarettes imports from Azerbaijan

In January-April 2025, Georgia imported cigarettes (containing tobacco) worth $10.2 million from Azerbaijan, 2 times more than the indicator for the same period in 2024, Report informs, citing the National Statistics Office of Georgia.
Thus, Azerbaijan ranked 3rd among the countries supplying cigarettes to Georgia.
In January-April, Georgia imported cigarettes worth $51.4 million, which is 42% more than the indicator a year earlier.
During the reporting period, Georgia imported cigarettes worth $11.81 million from Lithuania, $11.3 million from Armenia, $5 million from the United Arab Emirates, and $4 million from Ukraine.
In 2024, Georgia purchased cigarettes worth $158.6 million from abroad, of which $32.2 million fell to Azerbaijan.
