Ecology minister: Regular monitoring will be conducted on Anglo Asian Mining's activities

Regular monitoring will be conducted on the activities of Anglo Asian Mining plc, a British gold, copper, and silver producer operating in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Ecology Minister Mukhtar Babayev told journalists, Report informs.

The minister said that the approaches will be tightened from now on: "If the monitoring was done once a week before, now the inspections will be carried out more frequently. Along with the company, the ministry will strengthen the control."

Babayev noted that short, medium, and long-term plans were recommended to Anglo Asian Mining by the Micon company: “The company will be given time to shape its activities in this regard. They also admitted that there are certain shortcomings. We have made it a condition that the company undertakes to implement these requirements and recommendations. After that, the issue of resuming the company's operations can be reviewed."
