Azerbaijan starts to supply raw sugar from Taiwan

In 2024, Azerbaijan imported 273,843 tons of raw sugar worth $161 million, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
This is 2% less in value terms and 6% more in quantity compared to 2023.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased 255,580 tons (+5%) worth $148.8 million from Brazil (4% less than the figure a year earlier), 18,203 tons (+29%) worth $11.7 million from Russia (+26%), 45.6 tons (+21%) worth $90,000 from Colombia (+25%), 9.8 tons (+78%) worth $29,100 from Mauritius (+96%), and 1.9 tons (+3.7 times) worth $8,500 from the United Arab Emirates (+4.8 times).
Last year, for the first time in 13 years (note: the official statistics on foreign trade in public use are as of 2011), a supply (1.2 tons worth $2,800) was made from Taiwan.
