Azerbaijan starts importing electric cars from two more countries

In January-April 2023, Azerbaijan imported 568 electric cars for $23.8 million, up 6.2 times and 8.1 times, respectively, from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 447 cars (+15 times) worth $16.2 million (14 times more than a year ago) from China, 59 cars (+6.6 times) from Germany for $5.4 million, 35 cars (+2.7 times) from the United States of America for $1.3 million (+3 times), 4 cars (-33.4%) from Belgium for $259,000 (-33%%) and 2 cars from the Netherlands for $131,000.

Azerbaijan imported electric cars from Hong Kong (2 cars worth $99,000) and the Netherlands for the first time in 12 years (official statistics on foreign trade in open access since 2011).

61% of the 486 electric cars brought to Azerbaijan from abroad (14 countries) last year were imported from China.
