Azerbaijan spends $294 million on car imports 

In January-April this year, Azerbaijan imported 23,356 (-2.1%) vehicles worth $ 294 million (+20.3%), Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee (SCC).

Within four months, imports of motor vehicles with a seating capacity of ten or more, including drivers, increased by 5.4 times to 238 (worth $ 36.4 million), passenger cars and other motor vehicles dropped by 1.7% to 21,574 (worth $ 214 million).

Of these, 4,156 ($36.4 million) are hybrid electric vehicles, and 92 ($2.9 million) are electric cars, respectively, up 48.16% and 3.8-fold from the previous year.

Meanwhile, vehicles for cargo transportation fell by 26.13% to 1,443 ($31.1 million), and special vehicles rose by 2.4 times to 101 ($12.4 million).
