Azerbaijan sharply increases imports of car tires from Korea

In January-May 2023, Azerbaijan imported 746,957 units (18.5% more year-on-year) of new rubber tires (for cars, trucks, buses) for $37.494 million (25% more YoY), Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 496,990 (+44%) tires from China for $26.6 million (+60%), 90,581 units (-26%) from Türkiye for $5.1 million (-9%), 70,036 units (+2.2 times) from Korea for $2.65 million (+2.3 times), 27,844 units (-55%) from Russia for $1.17 million (-57%), and 6,995 units (-28%) from Japan for $692,350 (-36%).

Azerbaijan imported 1.714 million units of rubber tires from 34 countries in 2022, and 61.1% of them came from China.
