Azerbaijan sees growth in imports and exports of fruit and vegetables

In January-February 2024, Azerbaijan imported 91,519 tons of fruits and vegetables worth $63,144,000, respectively, up 20,647 tons (29%) and $16,225,000 (34.5%) from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
During the reporting period, the expenses on the imports of fruits and vegetables were 1.8% of the country's total import expenditures.
During the first two months of 2024, Azerbaijan also exported 87,071,000 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $99,481,000, showing an increase of 19,053 tons (28%) and $19,630,000 (24.5%) in comparison to a year earlier.
In the reporting period, the income from importing fruits and vegetables was 2.1% of the total import income.
