Azerbaijan’s sheep imports from Russia grew by 47 times in 1Q2025

In the first quarter of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 10,115 live sheep worth $1.1 million, marking a 16-fold growth in quantity and a 19-fold surge in value compared to the same period in 2024, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee

During this period, Azerbaijan imported sheep from:

- Russia: 7,945 sheep (+47 times) worth $927,800 (+58 times);

- Georgia: 2,170 sheep (+4.5 times) worth $209,400 (+5 times).

In 2024, 88% of the 182,000 sheep imported to Azerbaijan came from Georgia.
