Azerbaijan’s honey yield in 2021 nearly 7,000 tons

This year, 625,300 bee families in 33,332 farms in Azerbaijan produced 6,802.7 tons of honey, 172.6 tons of wax, 15.6 tons of bee glue, 17.8 beebread, and 215.4 kg of royal jelly, Report informs citing the State Statistics Committee.

According to the information, last year the average selling price of a kilogram of honey was 25.3 manats, wax - 13.2 manats, bee glue - 92.3 manats, bee bread - 117.5 manats, royal jelly - 6.5 manats.

According to the presidential decree “On stimulating the development of beekeeping” dated March 5, 2018, a subsidy of 10 manats for each bee colony was set for beekeepers. Compared to 2017, the number of bee colonies in 2021 increased by 2.3 times, and honey production - 2.2 times. In general, over 13 years that followed the adoption of the law "On beekeeping", honey production has increased 4.8 times, and the number of bee colonies - 4.4 times.
