Azerbaijan's canned fish imports from Belarus soar

In January-February 2025, Azerbaijan imported 587 tons of ready-to-eat or canned fish worth $2 million, marking a year-on-year decline of 18% and 7%, respectively, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During this period, Azerbaijan purchased these products from:
- Russia: 299 tons (-29%) worth $790,000 (-12%);
- Türkiye: 52 tons (+8%) worth $401,000 (+3%);
- Belarus: 90 tons (+2.3 times) worth $273,000 (+2 times);
- Iran: 100 tons (+82%) worth $269,000 (+2.3 times);
- Latvia: 37 tons (-70%) worth $133,00 (-67%).
In 2024, 58% of the 5,694 tons of canned fish imported to Azerbaijan came from Russia.
