Azerbaijan’s aluminum wire imports from Germany skyrocket

In January-February of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 823 tons of aluminum wire, valued at $2.6 million, marking a year-on-year increase of 66% in volume and 90% in value, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During this period, Azerbaijan purchased aluminum wire from:
- Russia: 794 tons (+63%) worth $2.5 million (+88%);
- Kazakhstan: 19.6 tons worth $58,600 (no supplies a year ago);
- Türkiye: 6.7 tons (+21%) worth $34,400 (+17%);
- Germany: 1.7 tons (+173 times) worth $19,000 (+633 times);
- China: 0.9 tons (-39%) worth $5,000 (-20%).
In 2024, 91% of the 2,912 tons of aluminum wire imported to Azerbaijan came from Russia.
