Azerbaijan restores import of sesame seeds from UAE

In January-February 2025, Azerbaijan imported 102 tons (5% less YoY) of sesame seeds worth $214,000 (13% less YoY), Report informs, citing the country's State Statistics Committee.

During this period, Azerbaijan purchased 42.8 tons (+59% YoY) of sesame seeds from India for $95,000 (+42%), 35.2 tons (+9%) from Iran for $59,800 (+11%), 24.4 tons (-50%) from Türkiye for $58,500 (-53%), 0.02 tons (unchanged) from Germany for $100 (+10%), and 0.02 tons from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for $100.

Azerbaijan has resumed the supply of sesame seeds from the UAE after a 1 year and 7 month break.
