Azerbaijan participated in the 10th World Halal Summit in Istanbul, Türkiye, as well as the International MUSIAD EXPO 2024 and Halal Expo fairs held alongside the summit, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry.
A delegation led by First Deputy Economy Minister Elnur Aliyev represented Azerbaijan at the summit.
During the event, emphasis was placed on Azerbaijan's commitment to the mission and principles of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and its contributions to the heritage of Islamic solidarity through its rich historical and cultural values. Key areas for deepening mutually beneficial cooperation with member states of the organization and enhancing economic-trade relations and business were highlighted.
Furthermore, the importance of cooperation and innovation for the sustainable development of the halal industry was stressed, particularly the integration of ethical standards and technological innovations for future sector development. The significance of supporting initiatives and tools to minimize the environmental impact of green technology applications was also noted.
Elnur Aliyev and Türkiye's Minister of Trade, Omer Bolat, toured the International MUSIAD EXPO 2024 and Halal Expo fairs, as well as Azerbaijan's stands.
