Azerbaijan increases its tobacco import expenses by approximately 20%

In January-February 2025, Azerbaijan imported tobacco and industrial tobacco substitutes worth $20.35 million, Report informs, citing the country's State Customs Committee.

According to the committee, this figure is 19.7% more compared to the same period in 2024.

In the first two months of 2025, Azerbaijan also exported tobacco and industrial tobacco substitutes worth $4.977 million - 18.8% less year-on-year.

In these two months, imports of tobacco and industrial tobacco substitutes accounted for 0.49% of Azerbaijan's total imports, while their exports accounted for 0.1% of total exports.

In January-February 2025, Azerbaijan conducted trade operations worth over $8.904 billion with other countries. This is 23.2% more compared to the same period last year.

Of the foreign trade turnover, $4.766 billion accounted for exports, and $4.138 billion fell on imports. Year-on-year, exports decreased by 0.3%, while imports increased by 69.1%.
