Azerbaijan increases importing turmeric from key supply market

In January 2023, Azerbaijan imported 71.14 tons of turmeric for $93,000.

According to Report’s calculations based on the data of the State Statistics Committee, this is 6.6 times more in quantitative terms and 6.6 times more in value compared to the same period last year.

During the reporting period, 39 tons (+4 times) of products were imported from India for $52,700 (+4 times), from Iran 31.92 tons (+56 times) for $39,100 (+57 times), from Türkiye - 0.22 tons (+11 times) for $1,200 (+12 times).

Of 529.22 tons of turmeric imported by Azerbaijan last year (from seven countries), 52.3% came from Iran and 46% from India.
