Azerbaijan, Czech Republic may cooperate in 'smart city', 'smart village'

Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov has met with a delegation led by Czech Foreign Minister Jakub Kulhánek, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Economy.

During the meeting, the minister noted the importance Azerbaijan attaches to relations with Czechia and the significance of mutual visits and discussions conducted between the countries to develop cooperation.

Underlining the potential for strengthening economic-trade partnership, Jabbarov noted that the Mixed Commission on Economic, Scientific-Technical, and Cultural Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Czechia is a favorable platform in this respect.

He also stressed the successful operation of the CzechTrade Baku office in the development of trade relations. The minister pointed to broad opportunities for expanding cooperation in trade, industry, transport, and transit, and tourism sectors between the two countries. Jabbarov noted that cooperation with Czech companies in the automobile industry, 'smart city,' 'smart village' projects is also possible.

The minister provided information about the favorable business and investment climate created in the country, the restoration and reconstruction work conducted in the liberated areas, the Zangazur Corridor, and the Alat Free Economic Zone. He invited Czech companies to actively cooperate with their Azerbaijani colleagues.

On his part, Czech Foreign Minister Jakub Kulhánek noted that the two countries are strategic partners that enjoy mutually profitable cooperation and shared his thoughts about the directions of expanding cooperation.

The sides also discussed the activity of the Intergovernmental Commission and the development of partnership in trade cooperation and investment projects.
