Azerbaijan, Brazil customs services sign cooperation plan for 2026

Azerbaijan and Brazil's customs services have signed the Joint Customs Cooperation Plan for 2026, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.

The signing took place today during a visit to Azerbaijan by Fabiano Coelho, head of the Customs Administration of Brazil's Federal Revenue Service.

The document strengthens the institutional framework for bilateral cooperation and defines future areas of activity.

During a meeting at the State Customs Committee, the sides discussed the current state of relations between the customs authorities of the two countries and prospects for developing ties. They stressed the importance of expanding cooperation and strengthening the exchange of best practices. A presentation was also shown on reforms and initiatives implemented by the State Customs Committee.

Coelho also visited the World Customs Organization's Europe Regional Office for Capacity Building in Baku, where he was briefed on the office's regional cooperation initiatives and capacity-building projects.

A presentation was also shown on the experience of Brazil's customs service in the areas of Authorized Economic Operator, Single Window and integrated risk management, followed by an exchange of views.

After the meeting, Coelho was introduced to the work of the Targeting Center at the State Customs Committee. He was briefed in detail through special presentations on recent digital transformation in the customs service, artificial intelligence-based solutions, innovative projects and modern management approaches.
