Azerbaijan and Spain mull development of economic relations

Discussions were held on the development of economic relations between Azerbaijan and Spain, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan's Cabinet of Ministers.

Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov met with the Spanish State Secretary for Trade of the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Business Maria Amparo Lopez Senovilla.

The importance of holding the first meeting of the Strategic Economic Dialogue between the two countries in Baku was emphasized at the meeting.

They expressed hope that the Azerbaijan-Spain Business Forum and the signing of the "Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Economic Cooperation" between the relevant ministries of the two countries would give impetus to the strengthening of economic relations.

Sharifov noted the importance of the meeting between President Ilham Aliyev and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez within the framework of COP29 in November last year in terms of expanding bilateral relations and identifying new areas of cooperation.
