Azerbaijan and Slovakia may eliminate double taxation from next year

In 2023, the "Agreement between Azerbaijan and the Slovak Republic on the elimination of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and the prevention of tax evasion" was signed, and the document is expected to come into force on January 1, 2025, Deputy Minister of Economy Anar Akhundov said at the Azerbaijan-Slovakia business forum held in Baku, Report informs.

"This agreement will further improve the business environment between the countries," Akhundov noted.

The deputy minister added that the first meeting of the joint working group on economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovakia was held today: "We agreed to strengthen our efforts in various fields to raise our economic cooperation to a new level, as all the necessary conditions are in place for this."
